Our 2020 Shows

******NEWS ON OUR 2020 SHOWS!******

It's been a busy lockdown for Jenny Wren Productions!

Firstly, we've been working on a radio play. We were hoping to produce a new play called Bletchley Girls, by Lou Beckett, focusing on female code-breakers at Bletchley Park during World War II, but when we realised staging this, as planned, this May and June, was impossible, we got thinking - and adapted the script so it would work for radio.

So we've just spent the last two days recording Bletchley Girls - the radio play :)

We've had a lot of fun, rising to the challenge and learning new skills - each of us in our own homes, with the actors being guided, via Zoom, by the sound engineers on how best to use the recording equipment. Now the sound files have been sent to Boom Sound Studios (The Crown, Call the Midwife, The Imitation Game) for editing. It's all very exciting...

Broadcast dates and details in due course, and we still hope to bring the stage play, Bletchley Girls, to a theatre near you in 2021...

Secondly, as our summer tour is still looking unlikely, we are also working on an online alternative and will, later in the summer, bring you Pride and Prejudice - From a Social Distance. The script is written, the fabulous actors are rehearsing in their own homes, and the release date will be shared here when it's ready to go.

Sending you all love and good wishes from the Wrens - stay well :)
